Emma's Dress
I could not help myself. While the sewing machine was out, I figured that I would make Emma's birthday present. Here are a couple photos of the result:This album is powered by BubbleShare - Add to my blog
Senior Project - FINISHED!!!
Well, it had been an extremely difficult few months in the Lyndeborough Berna household. Sammy has been working on her senior project intensely for the past few months and the house shows it. We no longer have a kitchen, dining room, or living room; they have all been taken over by "the project."
Sammy presented her project on Wednesday and I could not have been more proud! She was phenomenal!!! She had an audience of about 30 people (about 7 teachers and the rest students). She wowed me! Lots of people came up to me after to tell me what a great job she did and that it is one of the best that they have seen. Myself, having been witness to nearly a hundred senior projects in my 8 years at Souhegan, would also have to say that is the best that I have ever seen.
Here are some pictures of what she accomplished, while she was accomplishing it. I will post pictures of the black dress (which for some reason did not make it in this pile) later:

Sammy's Senior Project and her BIG decision!
Sammy is putting together her senior project. She researched the effect of and use of a costume designer. One of her culminating pieces is to put together an ensemble of outfits for a character in the play "The Apartment". She designed the outfits for two main characters and is making the outfits for the female character.
Okay, the big decision, as of right now (10:33 pm on Tuesday night) she is going to Ithaca. That means, Jeff and Judy get your engines ready (Ithaca is 2 hours and 34 minutes from your house - mapquest). I will update as necessary! As Tigger (from Winnie the Pooh) would say "TTFN!--Ta Ta For Now!"

More video...
Here are some clips of Beasom Road and Old Temple Road. There is no access from these roads. As you can see from the video, the water cut into the road - in some places up to 2 feet.

Rain Day!
Well, Sammy got her wish. We are home for our third "snow" day this year. Unfortunately, they have all been in March and April. Today we are home for more of a rain day. Our rock wall collapsed and water continues to pour down. Kurt just tried (unsuccessfully) to get to work but we are currently blocked in on both sides - mud one way and water the other.

Finish...(well..almost)
Kurt finished the ceiling in the basement (well, almost). He still has to get a coverplate for the junction box and a grill for the vent - then he is done. This is the first house project that we have not worked on together - feels kindof weird; but then again, we are very motivated to get some of these items off our list and make our house as beautiful as we can for our summer house guests. Still awaiting the arrival of Sloth - so why not fill our time with other things. Anyhow, I just totaled up all the receipts for the ceiling and this is the least expensive project we have done yet - $446.22.

Ceiling in the Basement
Well, we are finally going to get a ceiling up in the basement. It is about time. We figure that since we are asking people to stay in our house this summer that we should get the house looking as fine as we can. We will post more pictures as we make progress.
